The Back Porch Studio at Oil and Cotton

Oil and Cotton is honored to be partnering in a project with the Back Porch Studio. Founded and created by the very talented and generous Alfred Pena, the Back Porch Studio is a design-build summer studio for high school students.  This week students have learned basic design principles from local professionals practicing in the field of architecture.

Students are designing and building an outdoor classroom to extend Oil and Cotton's usable space. We  break ground next week, August 2-5 from 8am-12pm. It is going to be a hot and sweaty job and we need all of the helping hands we can get. Let us know if you are able to volunteer for a few hours during the week and please spread the word to others. Volunteers will have the opportunity to work alongside experienced architects, craftsmen, a talented future architects. Lend a hand, work alongside neighbors and sweat off ten pounds!

You can learn more about the project here.
