Song Writing Camp at Oil and Cotton
Sound checks, tangled wires, amps, drums and guitars were part of our week at Oil and Cotton. A group of talented musicians formed bands, wrote songs and recorded and cut records during our fourth Song Writing Camp. We can't get these tunes out of our heads. Below is a theme song written and preformed by Candy Thunder! You can listen to the all of our bands on the Oil and Cotton Sound Cloud page..

Oil and Cotton at Latino Cultural Center
This weekend we had the pleasure of collaborating with the Latino Cultural Center. Oil and Cotton lead a drum making activity for families attending the opening of American Sabor: Latinos in U.S. Popular Music. Children interpreted traditional rhythms such as Mambo, Samba and Cha Cha into visual patterns to decorate their drums and shaker instruments.
