Collage can be a way to investigate and express ideas/feelings/sensations through a visual format. Many artists, writers, and creative people have used collage both to create independent works of art and to create working drawings for more complex projects. Collage is also a common technique used in therapy and self-help as a means to come to better know the self. Experienced artists, complete novices, and everyone in between will have the opportunity to explore and extend their creative selves through semi-structured play. We will look at historical and contemporary references for inspiration, discuss formal design concepts, and introduce technical/material information. Participants are encouraged to bring their own collage materials and/or use materials available at the studio. Learn more about her and her work at www.rebeccacarter.org.
Please register online.
